Fuel System for Forklift - The fuel systems job is to provide your engine with the gasoline or diesel it needs in order to work. If whatever of the fuel system components breaks down, your engine will not function properly. There are the major parts of the fuel system listed beneath:

Fuel Tank: The fuel tank is a holding cell meant for your fuel. When filling up at a gas station, the fuel travels down the gas hose and into your tank. Inside the tank there is a sending unit. This is what tells the gas gauge the amount of gas is within the tank.

Fuel Pump: In newer cars, most contain fuel pumps usually located in the fuel tank. Many of the older automobiles would attach the fuel pump to the engine or located on the frame next to the engine and tank. If the pump is on the frame rail or inside the tank, then it is electric and works with electricity from your cars' battery, whereas fuel pumps which are attached to the engine utilize the motion of the engine to be able to pump the fuel.

Fuel Filter: For performance and overall engine life, clean fuel is essential. The fuel injector is made up of small holes that block without problems. Filtering the fuel is the only way this can be avoided. Filters could be found either after or before the fuel pump and in some instances both places.

Fuel Injectors: The majority of domestic cars after the year 1986, along with earlier foreign cars came from the factory with fuel injection. Instead of a carburetor to do the job of mixing the air and the fuel, a computer controls when the fuel injectors open to allow fuel into the engine. This has caused better fuel economy and lower emissions overall. The fuel injector is basically a tiny electric valve which opens closes with an electric signal. By injecting the fuel close to the cylinder head, the fuel stays atomized, or in tiny particles, and can burn better when ignited by the spark plug.

Carburetors: Carburetor work in order to mix the air with the fuel without any computer intervention. These devices are quite simple to work but do need regular rebuilding and retuning. This is amongst the main reasons the newer vehicles presented on the market have done away with carburetors instead of fuel injection.
